Health Canada is recalling a brand of baby stroller following a defect in its braking system which could lead to injuries, the agency said in a recall notice Monday.
The recall concerns the Stokke YOYO stroller which is available with a black or black and white frame.
“Parking brakes on strollers with serial number ‘142AA’ may become loose, posing a risk of injury,” the notice states.
The affected products were sold between August and October of this year and the company has sold 35 of these strollers in Canada.
A seat, canopy and storage compartment are sold separately and available in black, beige, stone, olive, taupe, caramel, ginger, blue or aqua.

However, Health Canada added that no injuries related to the product have been reported.
Health Canada urges users to check stroller serial numbers.
Units affected by this issue are clearly marked with a serial number beginning with the sequence “142AA” followed by a number lower than “0062239”.
The serial number with “AA” refers to a specific supplier.
The Stokke company has a reminder portal where users can register and receive instructions on how to return affected YOYO strollers and all their components.
Health Canada urges users to immediately stop using the product and contact Stokke. Once the company receives the recalled product, it will provide a full refund to the consumer, Health Canada said.
