But this week, his tears seem to tell a different story for a man who claims to have no lost love for Meri Brown. He finds his first wife moving and he sheds a few tears. But still, the Sister Wives The patriarch doesn’t seem to understand how sentimentality works for most people.
Viewers watched this season as Meri gifted her living room furniture to her family members. Kody seemed perplexed that he wasn’t keeping it for sentimental reasons. But this week, Meri sheds something he might consider a sanctuary when it represents his years with this woman.

Sister Wives captures Kody Brown helping Meri Brown with her move. Besides the junk and some furniture loaded into the truck, there is one thing Meri refuses to take.
Kody Brown acknowledges that moving day falls on what would have been his 33rd wedding anniversary with his very first wife. At first, Kody recognizes that moving day is their anniversary. She corrects him and says no, that would have been the case, but they’re not together anymore.
Kody helps take apart the bed he and Meri bought together when they first moved to Flagstaff. He seems a little disturbed that his first wife doesn’t take to bed with her. But instead, she plans to get rid of it.
It’s almost as if Kody thinks the bed they shared during their marriage should be a sacred part of his life. But, as Meri points out in her confessional, they hadn’t shared this bed in years. So what Kody Brown might consider a sanctuary goes, goes, disappears.
Sister Wives: Meri Brown weighs in
In this week’s preview of Sister Wivesfans were surprised by Meri Brown’s light-hearted approach towards Kody Brown. He seems more upset about his move than she is. Kody even shed tears for the Sister Wives camera.
In a confessional, Meri talks about the bed she left behind from her marriage to Kody. She said she wanted to move on with her life. And that will include dating one day.
So if she ended up in a committed relationship in the future, she thinks it might be pretty “weird” to have the same bed she shared with Kody in her furniture.
That said, Sister Wives fans suggest Kody Brown might consider their marriage bed a sanctuary. But it seems clear that his first wife doesn’t share those feelings this week on the TLC series.
