The FC COO will want to be married with kids in the future, and that’s probably not a commitment Hope will give him. It’s similar to what she did to Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).
Just like what she said to Thomas, Hope tells Carter that she loves him. But that’s probably as far as she’ll go, because no commitment is probably still not in her cards. So this bombshell could be Carter Walton realizing that the future he wanted with Hope Logan is looking pretty bleak.
The same is probably true for his career. Having created this takeover with her in mind, it likely tarnished his record of working for the future on the CBS soap.
