India has been stripped of the hosting rights for the 2025 Women’s T20 World Cup following its decision not to travel to Pakistan to play in the ongoing men’s event, as New Delhi continues to slip in visa approvals and travel permissions.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) in Multan, where India’s refusal to grant no-objection certificates to its team for the ongoing tournament in Pakistan sparked a heated debate among officials.
India, due to its short-sighted policies and lack of vision, is known for denying visas to the Pakistani national team, which was the reason behind the decision to cancel the hosting rights. India has also refused to grant visas to the Pakistan Blind Cricket Team to participate in the 2022 Blind World Cup.
The council also decided that Pakistan and India will not host ICC cricket until tensions between the two countries are resolved.
The two countries will only host their events in neutral venues where visa issues and no-objection certificates do not become obstacles to participation.
Moreover, the meeting also decided to retain Pakistani Syed Sultan Shah as Chairman of the Global Business Council.
Pakistan on Sunday thrashed Nepal by 10 wickets in the first semi-final at Multan Cricket Stadium and reached the final of the T20 World Cup 2024.
Chasing a modest target of 95 runs, the home team comfortably hit the winning runs in just 5.3 overs without losing a wicket.
The Green Shirts will take on Bangladesh in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup, scheduled to be played at the same venue on Tuesday.
