Inter Miami, led by Argentine football legend Lionel Messi, are set to take on Mexico’s Club América in an exhilarating friendly match next month at the iconic Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
This match, scheduled for January 18, 2025, will serve as pre-season preparation for both teams as they prepare for their upcoming campaigns, beIN Sports I mentioned.
The anticipated confrontation between the two teams was broadcast by the Liga MX club through its official account on Instagram, in which it wrote “Clash of Stars” and “See you in Las Vegas.”
The post included pictures of the captains of Inter Miami and Club America – Messi and Henry Martin.
Currently, Club America, also a two-time Liga MX champion, is competing in the 2024 Apertura final against Monterrey, hoping to win a historic third title in a row under coach Andre Jardin.
Meanwhile, Inter Miami, which includes global icons such as Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, recently concluded the 2024 MLS season with notable success.
The MLS club enjoyed notable success throughout the league, finishing top of the league with 74 points and winning the Supporters’ Shield.
However, their impressive season ended in disappointment, as they saw an early exit from the playoffs in the first round to Atlanta United, losing 2-1 in the best-of-three series.
Furthermore, this is not the first time the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner has faced a Mexican team.
Previously, the Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star has faced Mexican teams several times, amassing an impressive record of 3 wins and 2 draws.
