LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced on Sunday that star batsman Saim Ayub will be transferred to London for immediate medical treatment after consulting with senior medical experts. Geo Super I mentioned.
This step aims to ensure a comprehensive diagnosis and effective treatment for Ayoub’s injury.
Naqvi personally called Ayub to check on his condition and expressed his heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery.
He expressed the importance of providing the necessary care, stressing that Ayoub will be examined by well-known orthopedic specialists in London.
An appointment has already been arranged at a leading hospital to ensure the best possible treatment for the young cricketer.
Dr. Mamrez, who was supervising the treatment of the left-handed player in Pakistan, sent the cricketer’s medical reports to London for further evaluation.
Naqvi praised his dedication and reiterated that the PCC would provide all necessary resources to support Ayub’s recovery.
“Saim Ayub is an elegant and classy batsman who is an asset to Pakistani cricket,” Naqvi said.
He added: “We are doing everything we can to ensure his full recovery. He will be sent on the next available flight from Cape Town to London, accompanied by assistant coach Azhar Mahmood to ensure his health.”
The injury occurred while playing on the opening day of the second men’s cricket Test against South Africa at Newlands on Friday.
While trying to recover the ball, Ayoub lost his balance and stumbled backwards, which led to his injury.
An MRI performed Friday afternoon confirmed the fracture, which resulted in his ankle being immobilized with a medical moon boot. As a result, he was sidelined from cricket for at least six weeks.
Despite the setback, Naqvi expressed optimism that the opening batsman will recover in time for the upcoming Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
“The Coordination Council will spare no effort in using all necessary resources to assist in his treatment and rehabilitation,” Naqvi stressed.
