LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced the names of nominees for the prestigious PCB Hall of Fame 2024, which includes four legendary cricketers.
Former greats Inzamam-ul-Haq, Misbah-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Muhammad and Saeed Anwar have been named in the PCB Hall of Fame 2024.
This marks a significant year for the Hall of Fame, with four inductees honored compared to the usual two. This exception has been made because no cricketers will be inducted in 2023.
The PCB Hall of Fame, created to honor the contributions of Pakistani cricket legends, already includes icons like Abdul Qadir, A.H. Kardar, Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Muhammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan and Zaheer Abbas. .
This year’s selection process included a distinguished panel comprising Wasim Akram and Zaheer Abbas (both Hall of Fame members), former captain Azhar Ali, former cricketers Basma Marouf and Nain Abidi, and cricket journalists and analysts, including Majid Bhatti, Mohi Shah and Mohammad Yaaqoub. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the recruits.

Recruits
Inzamam was a cornerstone of Pakistani cricket from 1991 to 2007, a key member of the 1992 World Cup-winning team and one of Pakistan’s best middle-order batsmen.
Known for his resilience, Misbah represented Pakistan from 2001 to 2017. Under his captaincy, Pakistan achieved the top spot in the ICC Test team rankings in 2016 and achieved a historic Test series win in the Caribbean.
Mushtaq represented Pakistan from 1959 to 1979, and was a pioneering captain of the team, leading Pakistan to their first ever Test win over Australia in 1977. He also coached the team to the final of the 1999 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
