The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has secured the services of former Test bowler Abdul Rehman as bowling coach for the national team.
Currently, under the captaincy of Shan Masood, the Pakistan cricket team is in Multan, where they will play their first two Test matches against West Indies starting January 17, as part of the ICC Test Championship.
The National Selection Committee has announced a 15-member Test squad for the series, which includes three spinners: Noman Ali, Abrar Ahmed and Sajid Khan.
The left-arm orthodox spinner, who took 140 wickets for Pakistan in Tests, One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals between 2006 and 2014, has joined the team in Multan.
Abdul Rahman, who hails from Sialkot, will celebrate his 45th birthday on March 1 this year. He had announced his retirement from international cricket in October 2018.
Before that, he was part of the coaching staff of the Pakistan women’s cricket team. This will be his first experience as a bowling coach with the men’s national team.
