A video of Babar Azam playfully tapping pacer Sajid Khan’s head like a ‘drum’ during Pakistan’s Test match against West Indies has gone viral, sparking mixed reactions among fans.

The moment happened after Sajid Kevim Hodge was sent off for a duck in the second half. As the team celebrated, Babar joined in his unusual gesture, which quickly gained attention on social media.

While many fans found the celebration amusing, some criticized the Pakistan captain’s performance with the bat. One user commented that Babar should “focus on his batting instead of being a cheerleader” after failing in both rounds.

Pakistan remain in a strong position, needing five more wickets to secure victory, with West Indies struggling at 54-5 in pursuit of 251 runs.

Previously, West Indies pacer Jomel Warricane produced the best performance of his career, taking 7/32 to bowl out Pakistan for 157 on the third day of the first Test.

The visitors now need 251 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Pakistan resumed their second innings at 109/3 but suffered an early collapse.

Vice-captain Saud Shakeel and Mohamed Rizwan both fell in just two runs, while Warikan scored twice in quick succession to reduce the hosts’ lead to 113/5 in the 34th minute.

No. 27 Kamran Ghulam offered brief resistance, but Warrican continued to dominate, dismissing Noman Ali and Sajid Khan cheaply.

Left-arm spinner Khurram Shehzad was also run out without facing the ball, completing his first Test with five overs and becoming the first West Indies spinner to achieve the feat in Pakistan.

The last wicket fell to Gudakesh Moti, who removed Salman Ali Agha for 14, as Pakistan were dismissed in 46.4 overs. Warrican finished with figures of 7/32, while Motie picked up one wicket.

Earlier, Pakistan had taken a 93-run lead after beating West Indies by 137 runs. Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali starred with the ball, taking four and five wickets respectively.

Pakistan’s second innings got off to a strong start, with Shan Masood (52) and Mohammad Hurairah (29) adding 50 runs for the opening wicket. However, the mix-up led to Masoud escaping, and then Warrican caused a meltdown.

Chasing 251, West Indies will aim to build a strong response when play resumes.
