General Hospital predictions suggest Michael Corinthos could be a completely different person when he returns to the ABC soap.
The Torn World of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital
Recently, on General Hospital, Michael Corinthos’ entire world has imploded. First, he discovered that his wife, Willow Tait, was having an affair with his uncle, Drew Quartermaine. However, he still wanted to save his marriage.
That was until Willow’s mother, Nina Reeves, got the ball rolling for a legal separation and sole custody of their children. From there, things quickly escalated and a vicious custody battle began. Then things went from bad to worse for Michael.
Someone planted a bomb in Sonny Corinthos’ penthouse General Hospital. The fire caught fire and Michael was caught in the fire. He currently suffers from third degree burns over 40% of his body. Indeed, he has a long road to recovery ahead of him.
He must remain constantly sedated due to the intense pain caused by his burns. But he’s been awake long enough to decide where he wants to seek treatment. From now on he will be absent General Hospital canvas for a while.
Mikey goes to GH
Currently, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) needs extensive treatment for his severe burns. THE GH doctors suggested the Johns Hopkins Burn Center because they had an open spot.
However, his mother, Carly Corinthos Spencer (Laura Wright), got him into an experimental clinic in Germany with the help of Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure). He followed his idea.
So now he’s on a medical plane heading to Germany with Carly by his side. Michael’s portraitist Chad Duell takes leave General Hospital. For now, it is not known when or if he will return.
But the writers do not plan to recast his character. Plus, they left the door open for him so he can come back when he’s ready. However, if he returns, we could have a whole new Michael Corinthos…
General Hospital Predictions: Michael Comes Dark Again?
Currently, Chad has not said if he will return to GH, but it looks like he might eventually do it. The main reason he left the show was because there were a lot of changes happening in his life. He also plans to visit his hometown in Arizona.
Mainly so that her son, Dawson, can spend time with his extended family. Chad doesn’t leave General Hospital to pursue other acting projects. Plus, he’s grateful that he can come back after taking a break if he wants to.
So it seems likely that he will return at some point. But it might take a while. In case he joins the soap, fans could be in for a major shock. When Michael returns from Germany, he might be a completely different man.
The terrible experiences of his marriage collapsing and landing once again in the crossfire of mob violence may harden him. He might return with resentment toward his father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) because he was the intended target of the explosion.
This isn’t the first serious injury Michael has suffered from Sonny’s dangerous dealings. Plus, it wouldn’t be the first time Michael went dark. General Hospital. He has turned against his father in the past, largely because he is a mob boss.
GH Prediction: Michael joins the crowd?
But this time things might go a little differently General Hospital. Mikey could return ready to take over his father’s mafia business. And he could become the next kingpin of Port Charles. As it stands, Sonny is looking to get out of the business.
So if Michael resurfaces, he could take his place. Of course, that would crush Sonny and they might end up becoming enemies. Mikey might even try to get his dad out. In fact, there are several different ways to do this.
And it would certainly be interesting if Michael came back as a villain. GH becomes more dramatic and intense by the minute. Keep watching to see if Michael Corinthos come home like a darker version of himself on the ABC daytime drama.
