
Pakistani snooker player Muhammad Asif made history on Saturday by scoring a rare 147 break during his national snooker championship match against Ali Raza.
The maximum break, considered the pinnacle of snooker scoring, involves hitting all 15 reds along with 15 blacks, followed by all 6 colors in one visit to the table.
Asif, 42, became the second player in the history of the Pakistan National Snooker Championship to achieve this feat and the fourth Pakistani overall.
This achievement puts him alongside the likes of Saleh Mohamed, who scored 147 points in the 2008 AFC Championship, Mohamed Sajjad, who achieved this during the 2021 National Championship, and Ihsan Ramadan, who made the maximum break in the 2022 World Under-21 Championship.
After this achievement, Asif said: “This is a special moment for me and I thank everyone who supported me throughout my career.”
Asif won the match 4-2 with scores of 1-0, 54-21, 98(98)-0, 147(147)-0, 17-90(89) and 87-16.
