Karachi: The tenth marathon race for the Pakistani Special Olympics is held in Karachi today, and includes competitive races across multiple categories.
The event was attended by the ruler of Sind Camran Tesuri, who won the Olympic Medal, Arshad Nadim, along with hundreds of enthusiastic participants.
The event, which was organized under the auspices of the Governor Tesuri, witnessed a great performance for the participants, as the winners of the men and women categories were announced in each race.
The event included races for a distance of 21.2 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 1 km, and they attracted participants from various backgrounds.
In the 21.2 km of marathon race, Qasim Bajwa won, while Vizan Zulfiqar won second place, and Mohamed Sajad won third place. In half of the women’s marathon, Natasha Hassan, followed by Saherish Khan, won second place and Sarawar Cocaples in third place.
The event also included 10 kilometers races, as Muhanwar Fatima won the title in the women’s category, and Shaker Othman in the men’s category. In the 5 -kilometer race, Qandil Sultan emerged as the hero of women, while Muhammad Dia Allah won the title of men.
Tesuri, who honored the event, talked about the importance of totalitarianism and sporting spirit. Addressing the media at the closing ceremony, he said: “People are given opportunities, and everyone must go ahead together.”
The governor announced that all future races will be organized under the auspices of the Ruler’s Council, stressing the government’s commitment to strengthening sports activities.
The marathon included additional events, including a special career for children, in which children with special needs participated effectively. The governor praised Tesuri for their spirit and praised their parents.
Tesuri highlighted the nature of peace -loving Pakistan, saying: “We have to show the world that we are the Pakistani people who love peace.” He also stressed that the doors of the ruler’s house will be always open to sports activities.
Governor Tesuri also mentioned his visit to Mian Chano to meet Arshad Nadim and discuss his decision to support the Special Olympics Marathon in Karachi.
Meanwhile, the Federal capital also hosted the Islamabad Fif Marathon, which started with 5 kilometers and 10 kilometers and a half of the marathon and the full, and attracted a large number of runners and spectators.
