The state of the Missouri continues Starbucks about the alleged discrimination of race, sex and sexuality | US News Aitrend

The state of the Missouri continued Starbucks, saying that its policies of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) led customers to pay more and to wait longer for their cafes.

The American state allegedly alleged that the coffee chain had used a commitment to diversity as a pretext to systematically discriminate according to race, sex and sexual orientation.

In the complaint, filed before the Federal Court of St Louis, the Missouri also said that the salary of the leaders was linked to the company reaching hiring quotas based on race and sex.

“Starbucks has decided to demand discrimination outright based on breed and sex in hiring via quotas, separate employees on illegal bases and favorite groups for additional training and social benefits,” said the trial.

He added that Starbucks’ actions had led customers to pay more and wait longer for his goods and services because “the most qualified workers” were not hired.

Starbucks described allegations as “inaccurate” and added: “We are deeply determined to create opportunities for each of our partners (employees). Our programs and benefits are open to everyone and legal. »»

The decision of the Prosecutor General Republican Andrew Bailey marks the latest efforts in the United States to repel Dei’s policies, led by the new administration of Donald Trump.

Trump tried to close these efforts in the federal government and some companies have followed suit.

On Tuesday, Wall Street’s bank, Goldman Sachs, only canceled a policy to make public enterprises if they had two members of the various board of directors.

Last week, Google got rid of its hiring objectives based on diversity and Amazon.com deleted a reference to the inclusion and diversity of its annual report.

The policies in question were adopted by Starbucks in 2020, in the life movement of Black Lives Matter which followed the murder of George Floyd.

The Missouri added that the alleged behavior of Starbucks “should not surprise”, stressing the support of the new CEO Brian Niccol with environmental, social and governance objectives while directing Chipotle.
