The owner of Hobbycraft made a late swoop to buy the original factory shop (TOFs) after discussions with a rival pretender at the 11th hour.
Sky News understands that Modella Capital, which has also continued the High Street stores in Wh Smith in recent weeks, is about to win on Baaj Capital tenderer with a solvent agreement to buy TOF.
A manager elsewhere in the retail industry said he understood that an agreement could be concluded in a few days.
If it is finished, it would drop the curtain over more than 17 years of property by Duke Street, the investment capital company.
Tofs is a retail chain of retail chain of more than 180 stores across the United Kingdom.
The rival bidders for the company would have included the Frasers group of Mike Ashley and Poundstretcher, which belongs to the fortress of the investment group.
Created in 1969, Tofs sells beauty brands such as Oreal, the Adidas Sportswear brand and DIY tools made by Black & Decker.

The chain was bought by Duke Street in 2007, with it having supported the company through the COVVI-19 pandemic with an injection of more than 10 million pounds sterling.
Tofs is now understood that this would not have a remaining bank debt.
Duke Street refused to comment, while Modella Capital was contacted to comment.
