
Istanbul: The party announced that former Germany, Real Madrid and Arsenal Missot Ozil, who retired in 2023, was elected on Sunday to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) by Turkish President Rakib Tip Erdogan.
The 2014 World Cup winner, born in 2014, became a member of the AKP Central Council at a conference in Ankara, where Erdogan was re -elected for the ninth time as president of the Conservative Party who ruled Türkiye since 2002.
Ozil, who ended his career in the club in Istanbul, has long supported in Erdogan, after he chose him as the best man in 2019 for his wedding to the former Miss Turkey, Amin Goldsie.
A picture of Ozal and Erdogan with his former teammate, Germany, Ilkay Guundogan, also caused controversy, as Berlin accused the head of the repressive drifting state, while Ozil was criticized by the German right.
Ozil, who had previously established a symbol of multicultural Germany, turned his back on the German national team, accusing the German football association of racism.
