Jose Bater, the white football captain in England, said he will discuss with the team’s management about his future after the cancellation of England from the International Criminal Court Championship after a dramatic loss against Afghanistan.
On Wednesday’s defeat in Lahore, the second consecutive loss in England was occupied in the tournament, as it closed its director from the group stage. The victory of Afghanistan was their second turmoil against England, after their famous victory in the ODI 2023 World Cup in India.
Under the leadership of Buttler, England has now failed to advance until after the group stage in two of the last three ICC championships.
“I think the results are not where you should be, and I need to look at all the possibilities to get where the cricket game in England should be in coordination of white football,” Beller told reporters. “I need to work personally, whether you are part of the problem or part of the solution.”
When asked if he would re -evaluate his role as a leader, Berler admitted: “Yes. As I said, I will not make any emotional decisions here, now.” He added that it will take some time to think, while the decision ultimately takes the team’s senior management.
Since England led the T20 World Cup in 2022, Buttler has struggled to repeat success. England ended its 2023 World Cup in the ODI World Cup with only three wins in nine games, and suffered from a way out of the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup last year, and recently won the ODI 3-0 WhiteWash series in India.
Despite the challenges, Buttler confirmed that he is still leading the team. “Many people think he does not sit well with me, captain, but I enjoy driving. Even before I am the captain, I saw myself as a captain. But the results are difficult, and sometimes weighing.”
The last defeat of England came despite Joe Root 120 courage in the pursuit of 326 goal in Afghanistan. England decreased in 317 everywhere, confirming their elimination.
“This was a familiar topic,” I admitted. “It was possible for a confident team to overcome the line. It is up to us, as individuals and a team, to find ways to reach where we need to be.”
England will face South Africa in the final group match in Karachi on Saturday.
