
Karachi: A group of 23 Pakistani contestants, including 11 cities across the country and 12 abroad, will participate in the Tokyo 2024 Marathon, one of the six races known all over the world-Sunday (tomorrow).
This event will witness contestants from all over the world competing for a cycle of weaving through the iconic Tokyo features, providing a mixture of modernity and traditions.
The Tokyo Marathon, which was established in 2007, became a distinctive feature of excellence in the global running community. The race is famous for its careful organization and support for the enthusiastic spectator, and begins to build the government of Tokyo and pass through prominent sites such as the imperial palace, the Tokyo and Asakosa tower before concluding near the Tokyo station.
The race is not just a test of physical endurance but also a cultural experience, with spectators who lined up in the streets for joy to the participants with unparalleled enthusiasm. The concentration of the event has strengthened sustainability and community participation, as a world -class hearing.
This year, the Pakistani band includes experienced marathon and participants for the first time, with 19 males and 4 runners. Among them are six stars – the contestants who have completed all the Six World Marathon majors – such as Hamid Pot from Lahore and Fili Shafi from Karachi.

“I am running to raise money for the Pakistan Olympics for the Special Winter Olympics. I don’t look to any personal record; I nose for our own athletes. Tokyo’s marathon has always been my favorite, and I am very admired by Japanese culture and for this reason I run this race,” said Faisal Shafi, who runs the Tokyo Marathon for the second time.
Karachi -based Kokoura Sarwari participated in the participation of its fifth main marathon, the preparation journey: “My goal is to complete it without 4. I have trained strongly on that during the past 12 weeks, where I underwent various operating programs for myself.
Bilal Ihessan, a hostility in Islamabad, confirmed his focus on personal achievement and cultural participation. “I aim to get a good race and enjoy the Tokyo culture. I trained nearly 8 to 9 weeks, and focus on achieving my best,” he said.
The participation of Pakistani contestants in the popular Tokyo Marathon reflects the growing long distances in Pakistan. Societies have expanded in cities such as Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad in recent years, with more individuals who take care of this sport for physical fitness and personal challenge.
The Pakistani unit includes contestants in countries such as the United States, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, highlighting the global range of expatriates. Among the female participants, Khoula Ahmed, the Pakistani Norwegian Municipality, and Mahin Sheikh, based in the United Kingdom.
