
Daka: The Bangladesh Court ordered the seizure of the assets of the Crick player Shakeeb Al Hassan in the latest legal headache for the sports star because of his loyalty to the former leader of the country.
Shakib is the former legislator of the former authoritarian leader, Sheikh Hasina, who was overthrown in an uprising led by students last year and fled from a helicopter to neighboring India.
His links with Hasina made him a target of general anger and was among the dozens of people who were facing murder investigations due to a fatal police campaign against the demonstrators during the uprising.
These allegations have not been accused, but he is currently being tried for fraud in allegedly allegedly liar of checks.
A judge in the capital, Dhaka, ordered the seizures on Monday after the order of Shakib’s arrest by the court in January.
Shakib has been playing in the Twenty20 Cricket competition in Canada when a Hasina government collapsed and has not returned to Bangladesh since then.
