China has announced that it would impose additional prices on American products.
The prices will come into force from tomorrow, said the Chinese finance ministry.
This means that prices of 84% will be applied to American products – compared to 34% of China had already planned.
This comes after the United States struck Beijing with an additional 50% price this week. These followed two previous samples of 34% and 20%, which means that the American prices on China reached 104% compared to this morning.
The earlier, China told the World Trade Organization that the United States’s decision to impose prices threatened to further destabilize world trade.
“The situation has dangerously increased,” said China in a statement.

Helen-Ann-Ann Smith, Sky correspondent, said: “China is really the only nation in the world at the moment that chooses to take a stand.
“While others publicly make concessions and send delegations to negotiate, China has clearly calculated that not to be intimidated is worth the cost that the reprisals will bring.”
