Karachi: The International Olympic Committee agreed to the Los Angeles 2028 event program, which will also include cricket with six teams competing in coordinating both men and women.
According to the approval of the OIC Executive Council on Wednesday, a share of a total of 90 athletes was allocated for each sex, allowing each team to name a team of 15 members.
The Cricket game was actually part of the Olympic Games when England took France in a “one -time” match in Paris with winning the previous gold in 1900.
The places designated to host the cricket formulas in Los Angeles 2028 have not yet been confirmed. The schedule will be completed closer to the games.
Cricket is among the five new sports to the Olympic menu under the provisions of the host La28. Other sports include baseball/soft ball, football, science, lacros and squash.
Each of these sports will include six teams except for squash, which for the first time with 16 players tied for both men and women.
The 3×3 basketball championship is expanded from eight to 12 teams per sex after the successful introduction to Tokyo 2020.
The Los Angeles games will continue from 14 to 30 July 2028, which includes competitions across southern California, including the new England Stadium, which will host swimming events. Organizers expect the expanded program to maintain athletes numbers while providing more medal opportunities and more gender balance than previous versions.
Moreover, the Organization of the Islamic Conference also confirmed 351 medals across 36 sport. A total of 11,198 athletes – includes 5655 women and 5543 men – will compete, which represents great progress towards gender equality in the Olympic participation.
Aquatics 55 will present the medal event while athletics will include 48, while maintaining its position as an Olympic Olympic Sports. The swimming program expands to include 50 meters in the back of the back, butterfly and breasts for both sexes.
Other sports that see new rowing events, which add the coast race on the beach, climbing sports where Buldeer and Lead competitions will now have separate medal events.
