Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Razwan tackled criticism about his lack of efficiency in the English language, saying: “I regret not completing my education, and for this reason I do not know the English language, but I do not feel shy about it as the leader of Pakistan, I cannot speak English.”
“The demand for me is to play the cricket game, not to speak English,” he said. “If Pakistan wants English, it will become a professor, and you know that, and I go back. But Pakistan asks me about the cricket, not English.”
Rizwan, known for his frankness, added that he believes that he can communicate well enough to make himself understanding even for the original English language speaker.
“Sometimes I feel that I can explain things to an English man in my own way – he will understand me well. The problem is with those who just want to stay upset with me,” he said.
The Wikiite goalkeeper urged critics to provide constructive reactions instead of indicating faults.
“It is good to criticize the team, but also guides us on how to improve,” he said. “Recently, during the Champions Cup, Wasim Akram gave us advice, I wanted to talk more to him, but there was not enough time.”
He expressed their disappointment towards critics who do not provide any solutions, and warned that if the big players focus only on the younger cricket players, then all the right to resent in the future.
Razwan admitted that the fans have the right to be annoyed when the team fails to perform. He said, “The masses have what justifies them in their anger, and they have all the right to be annoyed by us because they love us too.” “But the Pakistan Premier League (PSL) gave a lot to Pakistan, and now it’s time to enjoy the league.”
He added: “The most successful people in the world were first called before others followed them. Those who could not deal with criticism do not achieve anything.”
