
Karachi: The Pakistani young squash players shone at the Australian Junior Championship, where they won four titles in multiple age groups, while someone erred a little by a slight difference in a hard final.
In the U17 girls, Miwish Ali took control of Aden Bulva with straight games 11-5, 11-5, 11-7 in only 12 minutes. Her younger sister, Mahnur Ali, won the title of girls under 13 years after the defeat of Rio Kawabata 11-2, 11-5, 11-6 in 13 minutes.
However, their sister Mharish Ali was shortened in the finals of the girls under 15 years, as she lost an exciting match for five games 15-13, 5-11, 12-10, 6-11, 11-4 to Emily Kabbar after 22 minutes of intense play.
On the side of the boys, Azan Ali Khan won the title of boys U17 with a victory 3-0 (11-6, 11-4, 11-9) on Henry Kroos in 23 minutes. Meanwhile, Ahmed Ali Naz won the U11 Children’s Final, and defeated Freddy Goldsmith in four games 5-11, 11-2, 11-6, 11-6.
The strong offer by Pakistani players again highlighted their increasing dominance in the novice squash.
