If the Easter rabbit plans to place a wooden rabbit toy this year, you may want to check the label first – Health Canada published a reminder of a risk of lead.
Health Canada published the recall on Wednesday, warning consumers to immediately stop using the wooden rabbit, a children’s toy sold by Ganz, due to a chemical danger involving excessive lead levels.
The orange silicone disc contains lead levels above the eligible limit under the Toys regulationsPutting a risk of lead exposure to children, Health Canada said.

Lead is toxic if it is ingested, especially for children, said the health agency.
Exposure to lead can lead to a range of serious health problems, including anemia, vomiting, diarrhea and, in serious cases, brain lesions, convulsions or coma. It can also affect the liver, the kidneys, the heart and the immune system.
Because lead accumulates in the body over time, even low levels of continuous exposure can become harmful, added Health Canada.
So far, there has been no injury report, and only three of the affected toys have been sold in Canada between November 2024 and March 2025. But if you have the product (search for article number BGE10631 and UPC 69632274489), Health Canada says you should stop using it right away.
