Karachi: Two Pakistani contestants, Faisal Shafi and the Danish Danish, had a history of the oldest Boston Marathon in the world by setting a unique world record: completing the race as soon as possible while wearing the traditional Shalawar Camiz.
The athletes, both of them from Karachi, finished the marathon in three hours and 26 minutes, on the occasion of the first time any runner that completed the 26.2 miles race in less than four hours while wearing appropriate national clothes in Pakistan.
Starting and ending the race together, Shafi and my God said that their achievement was a tribute to their country.
“This record is devoted to all Pakistan,” Divi told Geo News in an exclusive interview. “A record record in a historical race like Boston is really unforgettable.”
“We did this to highlight the positive image of Pakistan, and we will celebrate this victory in the homeland,” Shafi added.
The Boston Marathon, which was held for the first time in 1897, is one of the finest long -term events in the world. The clothes of the distinguished Pakistani duo drew attention and the simultaneous finishing drew attention, and presented cultural pride along with sporting endurance.
There is no formal category for traditional clothes in the world’s major marathon, but Guinness’s global record recognizes this as a world record.
The duo was widely recognized as unprecedented. The contestant colleagues praised their performance, which blended the sporting spirit with the national identity.
Upon returning to Pakistan, the contestants are planning to celebrate the participation of their teacher with the supporters.
