In the aftermath of the attack in Bahajam, a town in the Indian language occupied by Jamu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which killed at least 26 innocent tourists, strong reactions appeared across India – including from the cricket community.
Among the respondents was the Vice President of BCCI Rajeev Shukla, who explained that India will not play any series of dual cricket with Pakistan.
Bilateral cricket relations between India and Pakistan have been suspended for years due to diplomatic tensions, and chocolate comments confirm that the appeal is unlikely in the near future.
“We are with the victims, and we condemn it,” said chocolate to a local news channel.
He added: “Whatever our government will say, we do not play with Pakistan in the bilateral chain because of the government’s position. We will not play with Pakistan to move forward by moving forward. But when it comes to the international criminal court, we are playing because of the participation of the International Criminal Court. ICC also realizes what is happening.”
India and Pakistan played the last two series in 2012-13. Since then, the two sides have only faced each other in the International Criminal Court championships and ACC – including the last meeting of the ICC 2025 Champions Cup in Dubai.
The Secretary of BCCI Devajit Saikia also issued a statement, condemned the attack and offered condolences to the families of the victims.
