
The Cricket Council in India has suspended the T20 championship in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the midst of the increasing tensions between Pakistan and India.
The Cricket Game of India (BCCI) postponed the IPL for 2025 “with an immediate effect for one week” in the wake of the ongoing situation with Pakistan, according to a statement issued by the Secretary of BCCI Devajit Saikia on Friday.
The decision was made after the consultations involved on the IPL board, the representatives of the concession, the broadcasters, the sponsors and the security consultants. “The Board of Directors considered it wise to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders.”
The privileges began to solve shortly after the advertisement, as players and employees reserved early departure. The revised schedule will be shared after further evaluation in coordination with the authorities, according to the statement. All participants agreed that continuing the championship under the current circumstances was not viable.
The IPL match was abandoned on Thursday in the middle of the road after the fighting began in the Indian border areas, but the Cricket Council is the rate of disruption to the power outage on the field in Hill in Daramsala.
The richest cricket championship in the world began its current season on March 22, and the final match was scheduled to play on May 25, as matches are spread in 13 places throughout the country.
