Serbaz, a resident of the Hunza Valley, summarized the peak of 8586 meters at 11:50 am local time, which is the culmination of the year that lasted. While he had previously climbed all “eight thousand thousand”, the packed oxygen was used in bottles on two of the previous climb near the summit.
To achieve a distinction between oxygen, this season returned to climb Annaburna in April and Kangchenjunga in May, both without artificial oxygen support.
“Although I have summarized all 14 x 8000m summits in the world, there is still something missing,” Serbaz said when I got to Annaburna earlier. “When I first announced my project after summarizing Nanga Parbat in 2017, my goal was simple: 14 x 8000m garbage without U2, and for this reason I returned.”
