Karachi: Pakistan and Sri Lanka were announced the winners of the AFC (ATF) 12 and under the team – South Asia after the final rainbow in Colombo on Friday.

Both teams are offered to ATF 12 & Under Team in the Asian Finals, which was appointed in Singapore in late August 2025.

Rashid Ali Pakistan won his individual match against Wetta Nurnene Mindes and Vita 5-4 (7-2), 4-0. The second individual match was stopped between Mohamed Shayan Afraidi from Pakistan and Amarasinghe Revaan from Sri Lanka due to the rain with the result in 2-4, 4-2 (1-0).

Pakistan was not defeated in the championship, where the India Arm (2-0), the Maldives (3-0), Bangladesh (3-0) and Nepal (3-0).

Issam praised the right of the Pakistani tennis federation for the team’s performance.

“Congratulations to all the team members on this distinguished achievement,” Qureshi said. “This is a proud moment for Pakistan. Our team’s performance will inspire a new generation of players.”

Colonel Zia-Din Tuffail, PTF Secretary-General, praised players and support staff for their “worthy” effort.

Strong signals that show the increasing signals of the young tennis program in Pakistan before the continental finals later this year.
