
The rowing team in Pakistan presented its strongest performance ever in the inner Asian Rowing Championship, which was held from May 26 to 31 in Pattaya, Thailand, where it collected 14 impressive medals-including 10 golds-and insurance third place in general.
Athletes compete against athletes from more than 20 Asian countries, and the Pakistani rowing team excels in multiple categories, including a master’s degree, under 23 years old, and open departments.
One of the most prominent championships was Assad Ali, who won five gold medals. Maqbool Ali and Wali Khan followed with two gold, while Abdul Jabbar and Mohamed Shahzad settled on gold and silver. Tayyab Iftikhar collected the number with silver and bronze.
The number of final medals in Pakistan – 10 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze – set a historical teacher, highlighting the rapid development of the team and its capabilities on the continental theater. Thailand ranked first, as India ranked second.
The championship, which was hosted in the coastal city of Pattaya, was praised to organize it and the talent of rowing from all over Asia. Pakistani athletes were widely praised for their dedication, indicating a bright future of internal rowing aspirations in the country.
