
The Canadian Olympic Champion, consisting of three times, McCainstos summer a global record in the 400 -meter women’s race in Canadian swimming trials in Victoria, British Columbia, on Saturday.
The 18 -year -old scored 3: 54.18 to improve the Arrin Timus brand of 3: 55.38 in the 2023 World Championships in Fukukuka, Japan.
“Going tonight, I knew that my training was really good for the past few months, and I knew that I could do something special,” McCaintech told the public broadcaster. CBC.
“So the ability to introduce my training to do this – I didn’t think my training would be 54.1 but I am really happy with that.”
In the Paris Olympics, McCainch has become the first athlete of Canada to win three gold medals at the same Olympic Games.
In Paris, the world champion won four times in aquaculture in gold in a 400 -meter race, 200 butterfly and 200 individuals, in addition to taking silver in 400 free freeness.
But things felt different in Canada’s experiences.
“I felt very powerful all the time, and this was never the case in 400 free free for me. That’s the last 100, I am really painful.
“But I turned over 200 and I was just sailing, so I knew I was swimming strongly. I could tell the crowd and know how they were most likely chanting the world record.
“So I really tried to pay this last part for them.”
