Sainsbury’s Blames Visa Card Pisen for the failure of online payment | Money news

J Sainsbury, the supermarket chain, ran on Wednesday to solve a problem with the giant card payments by card which had an impact on the capacity of customers to pay their online grocery orders.

Sky News understands that Sainsbury’s is working with Visa to solve the problem after a number of buyers said their payments by card had failed.

The retailer excluded the possibility of a cyber attack and said that its website and application operated normally, without direct impact on customers.

The problem, however, illustrates to what extent the industry is on high alert for cybersecurity incidents after a series of attacks that have raised concerns about the resilience of the sector.

In recent months, the main British retailers, including Marks & Spencer, the cooperative and the Harrods, have been victims of cyber attacks, with the impact on particularly acute M&S.
