The companies were published by the newspaper for having received licenses for exporting semiconductors to the second world economy after a change of course by the Trump government in June.
Semiconductors are found in almost all electronic technologies and are essential to feed the modern world. Previously, the export of those, such as the H20 and MI308 produced by Nvidia and AMD respectively, had been prohibited under the reasons of US national security.
But the successful lobbying of NVIDIA Managing Director, Jensen Huang, meant that Trump had made it possible to resume sales in China.
The fact that China depended on American technology, rather than having to develop, was considered better for America by the administration.
The NVIDIA H20 chip was designed with the expression of the Biden administration against the advanced chips of artificial intelligence (AI) in mind.
In April, President Trump’s government said it would prohibit H20’s export.
Companies have been contacted for comments.
Nvidia has told other media: “We follow the rules that the US government has for our participation in global markets.”
“Although we have not shipped H20 to China for months, we hope that the export control rules will allow America to compete in China and around the world. America cannot repeat 5G and lose leadership of telecommunications. ”
