Baroness Michell Mone accused the conservative chief Kemi Badenoch of having used an “reckless” language which could harm a police investigation, and says that it has “no desire” to return to the Chamber of Lords as a conservative peer.
One day after writing to Sir Keir Starmer, accusing the government of continuing a vendetta Against her, the former conservative pay responded to Ms. Badenoch’s comments following a decision of the High Court according to which a company linked to the husband of Baroness Mone must reimburse 122 million pounds Sterling for surgical dresses.
The Court concluded that the EPP Medpro, founded by her husband Doug Barrowman, was out of contract With the Ministry of Health and gave two weeks to repay the amount.
Although it is not a company administrator, Baroness used its political contacts to introduce the EPI MedPro to the “VIP fast way” at the start of the pandemic, and a family trust of which his children are beneficiaries received 29 million pounds of the profits.
A distinct criminal survey of the National Crime Agency (NCA) is underway, and the assets linked to the couple worth 75 million pounds sterling were frozen during their pursuit.
In a series of radio interviews, Ms. Badenoch criticized Baroness Mone, accusing him of shame at Conservative party and the appellant withdraw from the lord’s room.
“Where people hurt, they should be punished,” she said. “They should face all the strength of the law and it is something in which I believe very strongly,” she said.
“And while the accusation against it continues, they should throw the book for it for each piece of reprehensible acts that took place.”
In a letter from his private office, the Baroness Mone accuses the conservative chief of having ignored the facts and calls for a series of other conservative politicians who presented companies to the VIP route.
“I was shocked by the heart to read your inflammatory language on BBC radio yesterday calling for me to resign from the Chamber of Lords,” she writes.
“You are reviewing a live criminal investigation which could prejudice at the end of any trial, and in so doing, you are to be declared to the Attorney General for violation and contempt of the Court.

The Baroness Mone continues by saying that the NCA investigation has “nothing to do with the EPP Medpro and the contracts”.
“The theory of cases of the NCA investigation is that I have somehow induced the conservative government on my alleged hidden implication and ended up pocket a lot of money,” she wrote. “Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but that’s not true.”
She also says that the Conservative government knew its involvement and appoints the former health secretary Matt Hancock, Lord Agnew, Lord Feldman and Lord Chadlington as being among 51 “Peers and deputies for the most part conservative” who presented suppliers the VIP way.
“So Kemi, my role was exactly the same as all the other deputies and conservative peers who tried to help provide PPE … If I did any harm, then do all the others in the VIP track. In this case, you should call for them to resign. It is if you manage to determine what they are supposed to have done badly.”
She concluded by saying that she did not wish to join the Lords as a conservative peer “assuming that there is always a conservative party before the next general elections”.
Baroness Mone lost the conservative whip when she took a Lord’s leave in 2022, and Ms. Badenoch clearly indicated that she would not be welcome.
The letter comes as an online petition calling for the Mone baroness to withdraw from the Lords, launched by the bereaved families of COVID-19 for justice, attracted 60,000 signatures in 24 hours.
The Conservative Party was approached for comments.
