Sister Wives fans know all about Kody Brown’s relationship with money. So, they watch the last episodes to see how the division of family property will work out. For more than a decade, viewers watched and learned how this family pooled their resources.
This was a family cookie jar, or bank account, where they collected all of the family’s income. Sister Wives to show. Then, along with the funds from their TV series, the money earned from the wives’ side gigs was also deposited into this account. But, despite popular belief that Janelle controlled the family’s money with her mutual husband, only Kody had control of the funds.
Did Kody have Meri believing Janelle was responsible for the money?
Until recently, Meri Brown was under the impression that Janelle Brown was running this account jointly with Kody Brown. But that’s not the case. Janelle told Meri that although she kept records of the family’s money, Kody was the only one who had access to it. If she had controlled the money, they wouldn’t be in the mess they’re in today, she suggested to Meri.
Kody Brown once said on the Sister Wives showing that his greatest fear in life is going bankrupt. So it seems that he has made himself the guardian of the family funds to prevent this from happening. But with this latest conversation between Meri and Janelle, one has to wonder if Kody accomplished his goal.
Sister Wives: Meri Brown threw Janelle Brown under the bus?
Sister Wives aired a few scenes with Janelle Brown stopping by Meri Brown’s house to talk with her. Janelle’s main purpose for this visit was to warn Meri that she might want to protect her share of the family assets.
Meri Brown was surprised when Janelle Brown issued a warning. She felt like she could trust Kody. But Janelle begged to differ on that thought.
Then, when Meri met with Kody and Robyn Brown, she mentioned her share of the money coming from Coyote Pass. She also mentioned that Janelle stopped by to suggest she keep an eye on it.
Are fans picking on the wrong person?
For some reason, fans see Meri as the disloyal person in this incident, and Janelle appears as the victim. Sister Wives fans criticized Meri for telling Kody about Janelle’s warning, accusing him of throwing Janelle under the bus.
But for fans, Kody remained unscathed, despite being the only one with his hand in the cookie jar today. It appears that Meri Brown and Janelle Brown are both innocent in this incident. It was Kody Brown who needed to be watched, not Janelle or Meri.
Meri addressed fans who accused her of gossiping about Janelle. She said Janelle Brown gave her this warning in front of the Sister Wives cameras, so Kody knows, it wasn’t a secret. But for some reason, Meri gets blamed for telling Kody what Janelle said. Yet Kody Brown caused all the angst over money, but he escaped unscathed from fans’ accusations.
Some viewers seem to think that Janelle Brown and Meri Brown are on opposite sides of this issue. But other fans are chiming in to say there’s only one person who has to answer for everyone getting a fair share of the family’s assets… Kody Brown.
Now, many others are weighing in to suggest that Meri and Janelle shouldn’t be held responsible for the financial dealings. Fans defending the two wives of this popular TLC series are pointing the finger at Kody Brown.
