Pakistan’s Haris Rauf has won the FIFA Men’s Player of the Month award for November 2024 after his crucial role in the Green Shirts’ win over Australia.

The Pakistani pacer fired on all cylinders on the tour of Australia, picking up 10 wickets across three ODIs to lead his side to their first ODI series win Down Under in 22 years.

Rauf concluded November with a total of 18 wickets, taking the monthly prize over India’s Jasprit Bumrah and South Africa’s Marco Janssen.

The 31-year-old’s standout performance came in the second ODI against Australia. With Pakistan trailing 1-0 in the three-match series, Rauf put on a fiery display of bowling for Adelaide, making figures of 5/29.

Rauf’s spell, which marked his second five-wicket haul for Pakistan, saw the hosts bowled out for just 163, as Pakistan returned to the series with an emphatic nine-wicket victory.

In the crucial third ODI, the right-arm fast bowler claimed several wickets and was named man of the series as Pakistan emerged victorious by a 2-1 margin.

In the three T20Is that followed, Rauf took five more dismissals, including a four-wicket haul in Sydney, his fourth in T20Is.

Later in the month, while Pakistan were touring Zimbabwe, Rauf grabbed another three wickets in as many ODIs as the visitors came from behind to seal a series win 2-1.
