A Disney-themed dance party has been described as “disgusting” and “sick” after showing footage of murder suspect Luigi Mangione alongside Hannah Montana’s track He Could Be The One.
The DJ-led event in Boston on Friday was billed as featuring music from Disney Channel.
Images appeared on a screen of Mangione, who is accused of shooting a man Director of the UnitedHealth group Brian Thompson in New York this month.
There was backlash on Facebook where the organizers, promoting the upcoming dates, posted a video online.
The images showed images of Luigi Mangione alongside the message: “Disney Channel Night x Luigi is coming to your city this holiday season!” »
The crowd can be heard applauding in reaction to the photographs while the song by Hannah Montana, the Disney character played by the actress Miley Cyruswas played.
At the end of the track, the DJ elicited further applause and said: “You have to give the people what they want. »
People called the video “disgusting” and “sick” on Facebook.
The Bop to the Top event does not appear to be Disney related. Both the media giant and the event organizers have been contacted for comment, as has the venue, Big Night Live.
Mangione, 26, is accused of murdering an insurance company manager on December 4 and was arrested on December 9 following a manhunt.
He had previously been charged with murder, but now faces 11 charges, including a new charge of murder as an act of terrorism.

The incident shined a spotlight on the health insurance industry, some online appearing to glorify Mangione’s alleged actions.
Tickets for the Bop to the Top event, which tours the US, start at around $20 (£16) and entry is limited to those aged 18 or over.
