LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday revealed the selection order ahead of the Player Draft event for the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
As per the recently announced selection order, two-time world champions Lahore Qalandars will make the first selection in the Platinum category, followed by arch rivals Karachi Kings.
Meanwhile, 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators will be the third pick, while Peshawar Zalmi will be the fourth pick.
Last season’s runner-up Multan Sultans and defending champion Islamabad United will be in fifth and sixth place respectively.
The second round of the Platinum category will follow the reverse sequence, with United making the first selection, followed by the Sultans, Zalmi, Gladiators, Kings and Qalandars.
Notably, all six franchises will have a total of three selections each in the Platinum, Diamond and Gold categories.
In the Diamond Bracket, the Kings will have the first pick in the first round, the Sultans will start the second round, while the opening pick in the third round will be made by defending champion United.
Meanwhile, Zalmi, Gladiators and Sultans will receive first picks in the three rounds of the Gold Bracket, respectively.
Furthermore, each team will select five in the Silver category, two in the Emerging category and four in the Supplementary category to round out its squad for the next edition of the landmark league, scheduled to be held from April to May next year.
It is worth noting that the upcoming PSL 10 Player Draft will be held on January 11, 2025 in Gwadar, Balochistan.
Remember, the registration window for foreign players to showcase their availability for PSL 10 has already opened, while the landing and retention process for players will continue until the end of December.
