The International Cricket Council announced on Saturday that the cup round of the upcoming 2025 ICC Men’s Champions Trophy will begin in Islamabad today.
The international cricket governing body revealed the itinerary for the coveted tournaments in an official statement issued on its website.
According to the statement, the cup will travel across the eight participating countries, giving fans the opportunity to interact with the souvenir and enjoy unique experiences along the way.
The tour will create excitement ahead of the tournament scheduled to be held next year.
“The famous landmarks where the trophy will be displayed on the opening day of its tour in Islamabad are Daman Kuoh, Faisal Mosque and Pakistan Memorial where it will be accompanied by Pakistani cricket icon Shoaib Akhtar,” the ICC said.
This marks the start of the International Silver Cup Tour, offering fans around the world exciting and interactive experiences. The tour will feature vibrant entries highlighting the event’s updated visual identity.
“After Islamabad, the tour will head to iconic cities and venues in Pakistan such as Karachi, Abbottabad and Taxila before leaving the home of the defending champions to embark on an extensive international tour, where it will continue to showcase the vibrant cultures evident across the nations,” the statement read.
A series of physical and digital entries traversing iconic destinations, sporting events and key battles on the international cricket calendar make up the Trophy Tour schedule.
Fans will be treated to a content series titled ‘Champion on Tour’ which will document the Cup Tour’s journey around the world through the unique lens of food, music and cricket.
Anurag Dahiya, Chief Commercial Officer of the International Chamber of Commerce, expressed his delight at launching the event.
He said: “We are delighted to launch the Cup Tour with DP World ahead of the FIFA Men’s Champions Cup, providing another action-packed program for fans around the world.”
He added: “The silver trophies, which will be displayed in all participating countries, will allow the sport’s passionate fan base to enjoy the unforgettable experience of getting close to the famous trophy.”
