KARACHI: Pakistani Muhammad Hassan Usmani achieved victory in the Ashgabat Open Tennis Championship, defeating second seed Suleiman Hadayberdev from Turkmenistan in the final match in straight sets, conceding only one game.
Competing in the Under-14 category, Osmani entered the tournament as a wildcard and performed admirably throughout the competition.
He began his campaign by upsetting eighth seed Kirimgeldy Filippigov in the quarterfinals, followed by a win over fourth seed Ali Geldiyev in the quarterfinals.
In the final match, Osmani defeated Hodayberdiev with a score of 6-1, 6-0. This was only the ninth match of his career while Soliman had this experience of 62 matches in his career.
However, the young Pakistani showed remarkable dominance over his experienced opponent to win his seventh international match.
Over the course of a five-match unbeaten streak, Osmani won ten sets while losing only one set, with an overall score of 65-22, displaying his exceptional level and skill.
According to Pakistan Tennis Federation President Isamul Haq, the Ashgabat Open has proven to be a great platform for Hassan Usmani to showcase his potential, and the youngster has left an influential mark in international junior tennis.
