LAHORE: Punjab Police has started massive security measures in preparation for the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled to be hosted in Pakistan next month. Geo Super I mentioned.

The authorities confirmed the deployment of 12,564 officers and personnel to protect the high-profile matches scheduled to be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi.

In Lahore, there will be 7,618 officers on duty, while 4,535 personnel will manage security in Rawalpindi. In addition, 411 Special Branch officers will work to enhance security operations.

Aerial surveillance will be conducted with the support of Pakistan Army and Rangers to enhance surveillance.

Police officials stressed that all participating players will receive state guest status, with their safety being the top priority.

The roads leading to the venues will be monitored via Safe City cameras, providing real-time monitoring to prevent any accidents.

Security arrangements are expected to be completed in the coming days as authorities prepare for this prestigious event.

The eight-team, 15-match tournament will be held from February 19 to March 9, in three stadiums – Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi – in Pakistan and Dubai.

The teams are divided into two groups. The first group includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while the second group includes Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia.

Hosts Pakistan will take on New Zealand in the opening match on February 19 in Karachi, while the showdown between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled to take place on February 23 in Dubai.

March 5, Semi-Final 2, Lahore, Pakistan

March 9, Final, Lahore (If India does not qualify, it will be played in Dubai).
