Hobart: The Pakistan team on Sunday arrived in Hobart for the third T20I of the ongoing three-match series against Australia.
According to details, the national team arrived here this afternoon looking to avoid a series whitewash by securing a consolation win in the last match, scheduled here at Bellerive Oval on Monday.
The touring side, which registered a historic victory in the three-match ODI series, failed to produce a similar performance in the ongoing T20I series.
Pakistan were blown away in a rain-reduced opener on Thursday before succumbing to a narrow 13-run defeat in the second T20I in Sydney, which saw them fall several times.
During the post-match presentation, Pakistan captain Rizwan said that dropping the ball in the crucial stages of the match hurt the touring team, highlighting the difficulty of taking 16 wickets – due to dropping the ball – against a strong team like Australia.
“If you drop crucial runs at crucial times, it will always cost you. Australia in Australia is not an easy team. If you give them chances like that and you have to take 16 wickets (because of a drop), it will not be easy for any team,” Rizwan said.
The right-handed batsman, who scored 16 runs off 26 deliveries in the 148-run chase, also described the pitch as difficult to bat on.
“We all know that it was not easy to hit on the pitch, so the shots were crucial,” he added.
