Pakistan leader Mohamed Rizouan said on Tuesday that the Champions Cup would be a “historic occasion” for the country, a day before the hosts launched the championship against New Zealand.

The Champions Cup is the first major event for Cricket hosted by Pakistan nearly three decades and is considered the second rank after the World Cup in a one -day match.

“A global event came to Pakistan after 29 years, so I think the entire nation should have this historical occasion,” Rizwan told a press conference on the eve of the championship, which will continue until March 9.

Pakistan was scheduled to host the championship in 2008, but was thrown into the cricket by a security crisis, as violence poured out from the long -term war in neighboring Afghanistan.

Then the gunmen attacked a bus carrying a secret team Lanka in Lahore the following year, injuring many players and killed eight policemen and civilians.

However, the major teams toured Pakistan in the past five years with improved security, and opened the way for the metal cricket state to organize the tournament.

“Pakistan has sufficiently sufficiently, but we also won during this stage, such as the 2017 Champions Cup and the TWENTY20 World Cup 2009,” Rizwan said.

However, the accumulation was not without problems after the neighbors and competitors of the Arch -India refused to play in Pakistan due to long -term political tensions. India will instead play its matches in Dubai.

Pakistan’s opponents won the opening match of the Championship in Karachi twice this month during a three -series event that included South Africa.

“There should be no doubts about our performance,” Rizwan said. “Maybe we have not played on our capabilities, but we all want to win the event for the country and people.”

Rizwan was hoping that football player Harris Rove would be on the field after suffering from straining the chest muscle in the match against New Zealand in Lahore last week.

“Harris Ra is 80 percent yesterday, and today is the bowling in his full rhythm and told us that he does not feel any inconvenience, so I hope it is completely fit,” Rizwan said.
