A former patient in the Tavistock NHS identity clinic said that the ban on puberty blockers while allowing hormonal treatment between sex was “irrational” and “illegal”.
Keira Bell, who was put into puberty aged 16, asked for a judicial examination of the government’s failure to prohibit treatment in the middle of the fear that it harms the children.

She said health professionals have ignored her mental health problems and trauma.
