The post office auditor and the accounting firm Big Four EY is the subject of a survey by the industry regulator.
Accounting and accounting dog, Financial Reporting Council (FRC) said that the survey concerned EY 2015 audits in 2018 on post office accounts and defective accounting software, Horizon IT.
The regulator will examine the role of EY in the satisfaction of audit standards, said the FRC.

EY ceased to be the auditor of the post office in 2018, the year preceding the public company, the public company publicly recognized and apologized for horizon defects. He had been the listener of Royal Mail since 1986, when Royal Mail and the post office were a single entity and since the separation of companies in 2013.

Responding to the announcement, EY said: “We take our responsibilities of public interest very seriously and we will cooperate fully with the FRC during their investigation.”
