Global Football Chairman Gianni Infantino said on Tuesday at the Investment Forum in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2025 in his head that FIFA targets one billion dollars of revenue from the Women’s World Cup.

The 2023 Women’s World Cup, which was hosted by Australia and New Zealand, crashed even after it achieved revenues of more than $ 570 million.

“Women’s football and women in football are very important …” said Infantino.

“It is also growing, greatly, and we also aim to obtain revenue of only one billion dollars with the Women’s World Cup to re -invest in the women’s game.”

Brazil will host the World Women’s World Cup in 2027, making it the first edition to be held in South America. The United States is preparing to designate a host for the year 2031, which will be expanded to 48 teams from 32 teams.

Infantino also said there is enormous football capabilities to generate more revenues outside Europe.

He added: “If the rest of the world, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or the United States of America, will do only 20 % of what Europe is doing in football, then we (can reach more than half a trillion (dollars) or more than the impact of GDP (with our sport).”

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by the way, is doing an exceptionally good job, by creating a women’s league, one of the national team for women. Women’s football is in fact the only team of the team for women who have such a huge audience and its impact as well.”
