Anyone who bought a Samsung or Apple phone between 2015 and 2024 could be due to compensation if a collective appeal against the Technological Giant Qualcomm is successful.
Group of consumers who? presented the complaint on behalf of approximately 29 million phone users.
Which? Allegues that Qualcomm violated British competition law by taking advantage of its domination in the license markets of patents and chipsets.
He claims that this led to Qualcomm to invoice manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung La Facés inflated for technological licenses, which were then transmitted to consumers in the highest price form or lower quality smartphones.
Sky News approached Qualcomm to comment. The company previously declared that the case had “no base”.
The trial will take place for five weeks from today at the competition court in London.
